Assuming makes an ass out of you and everyone else. It is better to know then to assume.

I don't know what type of crazy non-assumptions world you live in but assuming = perfectly normal. My assumptions are based on logic and common sense, when it's impossible to "know" if something is a fact, I'll assume what I think makes the most logical sense.
