A petition is a good idea. :)

However, the fastest way to fight any situation or ideology is with one's own hands. Start local. Help someone in your neighborhood or community, volunteer at a soup kitchen, or if you cannot donate money, find a local service or enterprise that directly helps fight hunger in your community. It's best to shake a hand, meet the person in charge, and find out what is needed (e.g. canned foods, help packing food, giving out food).
 
Whether it will work or not, I don't know but it is a nice initiative nevertheless. :) I hope it gets enough attention to shake the politicians' conscience and attention.

Theres enought money in the world to end hunger. IN fact, with a 3rd of what USA spent in IRAQ, they could end hunger. The real problem is that for politicians and big companies, hunger is not a biz.
 
With the $1,800,000,000 US dollars Argetine spends yearly on their military we could eradicate hunger.

But only if the leaders of those countries would allow it and not confiscate the money and goods.
