1000+ Backlinks from the same site - Bad?

I have advertised my website in a text link ad at a high-traffic forum.

When checking backlinks i see that i have more than 1000 from that site, since the link appears on all forum pages.

Is it good?
Or is it bad having so many backlinks from the same website?
Or does it mean nothing because it is from the same site so there is no influence on the number of backlinks?

Will appreciate an explanation :)

If each of the pages are indexed I believe it would be 1000+ backlinks, however 1000+ backlinks from different sources I'm sure would be weighted higher.
 
It can't be bad, Google knows people are having adspots on their websites. Though, I can't tell you if it's better to have 1000's of BL-s from one site, or only one. Quality matters, not quantity :)
 
There's nothing wrong in having many more than 1 backlink from same site. If the site is really relevant then it's even better. U can probably work on the conversion rate.
 
It very much depends on how many of links you have in total. If it is a new site, and suddenly 1,000 links from one site appear then it may trigger some alarms!

and my site appears in all pages..+ many other different links inside pages as well..
 
Agreed. Its not bad, but it won't be viewed with as much weight as , say, 1000 links from all different relevant sites.
 
It's not bad but search engines might see it as spam or site wide links. Google likes links from within content. So it's best to get 2-4 incontent links from a site instead of getting 1000 links.
