I'd suggest avoiding anything with copyright issues. But the scene does more than just that. Plenty of abandonware and items without copyright. Or if you wanted nothing shady, offer a backup/restore service, that could gain some ground for local businesses to you.

Work your way into the scene and upload things for them. Of course, that is potentially illegal, so be careful what you do.

I'm very partial to Nod32 and PrevX (for servers and the like if you don't want to shell out). And of course, adblockplus is a must on every browser.
