The trick is to show advertisements in a way that makes you revenue, but doesn't annoy the user. Try to find a place where people will be able to see it, but it won't be so annoying to them.

It's a good gaming news website. I don't know many gamers willing to read this much though, most have their brains fried from all that gaming. Suggestion: Make a short version of the article (1-3 sentences) in the homepage, and make it so it shows the full article when you click on the title.

I recommend using a third party to send out mass-emails because if people report as spam, your server's IP might be penalized and sooner or later all your emails will start to appear in people's spam box. So yea, I also like mailchimp.
