I think it would be best to have an excerpt instead of posting the whole information on posts. Interested users can then select the posts that interest them.

I have noticed on some forums that there is this function where if a registered user is on a certain thread, if any posts have been placed, a small update on the top of the screen would say There has been x updates, refresh page view most recent message. I do think it would be a handy feature...
