On the FireFox blog they say the latest FireFox Version 5

includes more than 1,000 improvements and performance enhancements that make it easier to discover and use all of the innovative features in Firefox. This release adds support for more modern Web technologies that make it easier for developers to build amazing Firefox Add-ons, Web applications and websites.

What a load of rubbish. Ari Bixhorn who works for IE wrote a detailed blog post listing all the new features found in the latest FireFox release.
You can find his blog post here An In-Depth Look at What's New in Firefox 5
It's well worth a read.

Loll :D:D http://bixhorn.com/?p=108
Guys at IE should concentrate more on developing their own browser rather than criticizing the development of other browsers. They are just making IE worse with every new update.

Maybe it's just me, but the blog post is empty??

Edit: Seems there's 5 replies since i browsed the page/while replying rofl.

How if nothing changed?

Well, we can't say anything as their are new interface changes but their can be new changes to the coding and stuff. Changes in Firefox 5

btw, IE just tries to bring more and more lag with every new update by either making it look more shit or by bringing new bing popups whenever you open IE X-(

I don't like IE, infact I hate it so it pains me and goes against my beliefs to defend it but at least when IE bring out an update it's an improvement.

Your on about the "coding and stuff". Did you know that their is not one single html 5 improvement in Firefox and it still scores 240 out of 400 in terms of supporting HTML5. This shows even the "coding and stuff" is lacking if it exists at all.

EDIT AT YOUR EDIT:

you added a link to bugfixes. Bugfixes should mean it goes to 4.0.2 or 4.1.0 if the fixes are substantial not a whole new version.

Firefox 5 has a major improvement in relation to CSS animations.
With a 18-week update schedule, you cannot expect everything to come in one single update. If they had improvised HTML5 in this update, then FF6 would have been a big setback for no major improvements at all.

Also, i had added a link of the bugfixes because in a way those fixes are 1000 improvements in Firefox.
Here are the major improvements
Added support for CSS animations
The Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability
Tuned HTTP idle connection logic for increased performance
Improved canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance
Improved standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, and canvas
Improved spell checking for some locales
Improved desktop environment integration for Linux users
WebGL content can no longer load cross-domain textures
Background tabs have setTimeout and setInterval clamped to 1000ms to improve performance
Fixed several stability issues
Fixed several security issues

That's the dumbiest thing I've heard. It's like Apple deliberately not adding a camera to the first iPhone so everyone would have to buy the iPhone 2 as it had an additional feature in the camera.
Chrome has had CSS transitions and superior HTML 5 support for ages now. Firefox plugins brake when it updates so they are just making it impossible for developers which these pointless featureless updates.

You know IE always sends Firefox a cake when they release a new version. It's a weird tradition. This update is so small and pointless instead of sending a cake they sent a cupcake to reflect the size of the changes.

Ok! I see
The features listed are secret firefox 5 features :))>_>

There are 7 secret features :|

>_>>_>>_>>_>>_>

Saying 1000 new improvements have been made, is, like idiots here post their first version of software/forum claiming how numerous new features have been added (when in fact every improvement is not having zero lines of code), so, if program have 10000 lines of code, they will say, oh, we made 10K new improvements.

On that Firefox page, it says BUGFIXES, with superbig letter.
Bugfix is not a new feature. and does not deserve whole new version.

Also, there is 992 bugfixes, and that is not over 1000

the only thing i can find is i can now place a bookmark button for my favourite sites along the address bar and thats it, why in the fuck would they name it firefox 5, they should have named it firefox 4.1 or something

they give us an awesome browser for free and why don't they even have rights to name the version as they like ? they must be having a new plan to continue the Firefox as version 5 , may be the Firefox team don't like the number 4 lol whatever it is Firefox always rocks we all should agree on that , no matter you have IE , chrome and any other browser isn't it obvious that most of yowl use Firefox as main browser and all your main bookmarks will be in Firefox
