Reporting to the tax company so the government finds out that you are giving a suspiciously high amount from uploading? Then the government request from the filehost to know what you are uploading and find out you are uploading copyright material? - Doubt it.

If you rob a bank, do you have to pay tax on the money you make? :P

The money was earned via illegal methods, no need to pay tax. Chances are you aren't earning enough from uploading to make your bank suspicious anyway.

lol, you don't have to report this to your tax authorities. You earned it right? :P
wrong

Technically, you are supposed to

you cant get taxed on the WORLD WIDE WEB.

nuff said.
wrong

You can. However, you would be exempt on so much for your total earnings per year

You do not have to explain in detail what it was for. There is also a section on a tax return for illegal activity earnings

wrong

There is no limit to what your earnings are to add to your tax return

Also, yes you would need to report that as illegally obtained funds

@ "You do not have to explain in detail what it was for."

Because the government doesn't get suspicious when you're making over £1,000 a month without leaving your house at the age of 15 - 18. Because my government isn't in a credit crysis and wouldn't jump at the chance to tax an extra individual.

As JJJ said allot of the things you lot think is wrong, and what you seem to not relise is tax avoidance is a lot more serious than potentually breaching copyright.

A good way to justify the earnings if required would be to register as a business (e.g. called Million Dollar Promotions UK), get a business bank and say the funds recieved where payment for online affiliate promotion (which is true in some respects), not that i agree with uploaders making money from uploading but thats a debate for another day.

they wouldn't ask you what you do. You'd do a self-employment tax return as a online business.

If you're under 18, you wouldn't need to file a return (in most countries)

lol if u want to pay tax and show it to government then show else follow what other are saying...
U will know the consequences...

if the filehosts doesn't send the govt your information and how much you earned then no theres no need to report it as no one would know. Filehosts only ask for paypal address I believe so the Gov't wouldnt know you earned that. When it comes to ad networks they are required to send the government a copy of how much you earned and crap then you have to report it. Even if you had to report filehosts earned money is not like they gonna try and find out that you are uploading files.

Samething if your selling crack on the streets lol you can't pay taxt.
wrong. it's called illegal income. there is a section for it on a return

When you rob a bank, does the robbed $ get deposited to your bank..? new to me.

But yeah, your bank won't report you when you earn a couple of $100 a month.

Do filehosts pay you in cash? If so, tell me how!

The filehosts won't send the government your info, but paypal will.

Earning from filehosts does not have to be illegal, you can for example promote Filesonic PPS through pay per click networks and there's nothing illegal about that.
