That is on a shared line.
You are not going to get the full 1GB/s.

They are talking about a full dedicated 1GB line for just your server. That is what costs $600+

Rapidspeeds do have unshared ports, in a way. In that, when you need, the server can and will do a sustained 1gbit transfer. I have a server and I've pushed it that far successfully.

The point is, RapidSpeeds banks on the fact that you will NOT use that much bandwidth. And that is the case with the majority of their customers. A sheer minority uses the bandwidth they are given, while the vast majority uses a tiny fraction of the allocated bandwidth, thus spreading the usage out and being profitable at the same time. The law of averages, basically. If every customer of RapidSpeeds started using the allocated bandwidth (1gbit) RapidSpeeds would be out of business in less than a month. That's not a myth, it's an actual fact that Darren and/or Craig should not have a problem admitting to. It's just good business practice to plan the usage such that you don't end up in sticky situations.

Keeping on topic, if you really want true dedicated guaranteed blah blah unmetered 1gbit, you have to pay anywhere between $800 to $1200 depending on the hardware.

And with the kind of hardware you want, you will never be able to push the maximum 1gbit. Your hardware will be a constraint. You'd be lucky to be able to push 200-300mbits (about 100TB) on that kind of hardware.

They do not ignore DMCA. They give you adequate time to deal with the DMCA notice - 48 hours, last I asked them.
