hello, i bought 3 weeks ago a linux dedicated server for my websites

i was on this: i7 core 920 8gb ram, 500gb disk and 5tb bw

then my dedi seller moved me to another datacenter, now in whm i see my server is:

Total processors: 8 Processor #1VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #2VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #3VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #4VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #5VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #6VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #7VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB Processor #8VendorGenuineIntel NameIntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz Speed2527.100 MHz Cache8192 KB

Xeon is made for servers... i7 is for non-server pc's but you can use it as a server too of course and at the moment the newest from intel.

but i don't know which one is better. :S

but if there are 8 xeon processors, i don't know if i wouldn't go with that one. but no idea...

I'm not up to date with processors etc. :S

Well its clearly not true. it has a slower clock speed and...
Clock speed:
i7 = 2.66 Xeon = 2.53 Ghz
Bus speed:
i7 = 4.8 GT/s Xeon = 2.5 GT/s
Cache:
i7 = 8MB Xeon = 8MB

EDIT: Both have 4 CPU's and 8 Cores (with HT)

So yeah, you kinda got ripped off if you ask me....

the guy say, i have put you on xeon because you wanted reboot function

the xeon has reboot
the i7 has no reboot

for i7 you need to call me and i will call the dc

shall i ask him to put be back on i7 guys?

unless you heavily use the CPU, you won't even notice a difference performance wise.
so just stick with what you got if they only allow you to reboot the xeon.
