What other features/tweaks should I add to the site.

Its has

General
  • Fully custom script, no wordpress crap.
  • Full Pagination on all pages.
  • View movies by Year.
  • View movies by Genre.
  • View movies by Letter.
  • Search with Ajax.
  • Tagcloud for random searches.
  • Meta tags per movie.
  • Rss Feed.
  • Sitemap, Imagemap.
  • IMDB top 10 list


Movie page
  • Submit your own movie link.
  • Full movie info.
  • Movie Image.
  • Link Ratings.
  • Links split so 'top sites' are displayed at the top.
  • Report dead link.
  • Facebook comments.


There is a register/login system already in place, i was thinking of maybe embedding movies if your logged in?

The genres take up a lot of space (height)

Also I would change the Free Download (at movie pages) to Full Download, as free download won't get you sales ;)
 
Top 9 ? Now that's something different and what an odd number.

Your site looks really good and I simply love it.. Perhaps, instead of having the genres in the middle, you should maybe have the most popular movie or w.e, I assume most people would looks for the most popular movie or the highet rated movie if they just browse to find a film to watch. I like the idea with the genre's tho but I think it would be better to focus on something else.. This might be a huge bummer from my side tho, just an idea..

Well, basically, the genre and the top 9 list should switch place imo.

I'm definately going to visit your site again as it's not often i find a so very well organized streaming site which upload new content regulary..

- The above have pointed how awkward the genre list is, I would suggest moving it elsewhere or adding more content to the middle. Maybe you can add Latest Releases to that middle content area, something I think would definitely be a good move
- The search bar you have at the top is really awkward looking, it's not integrated into the style you have
- I think you should add a "Most Popular Movie" list here because you have the empty space and IMO it'd be better to fill it

Other then that, looks good :)

(Chrome) Note the fact there's a big empty space there, stretch that content out a lil. Throughout other pages the content seems to be shoved over to the left like this :S.

Including the example above, there is also a color issue with the text. Change to black or something rather then a dull grey.

There's also a whole bunch of dead links. You should code a link checker or something.

a custom site , completely customized from scrap ? .... i guess so ... and hence i would say this site will go some good hieghts if worked good and for long term :)
 
Thanks for the feedback, I hadn't noticed it.

I will have a think about the comments and make some changes :) I made a link bot for the site but haven't run it for ages, I will check the keywords and give it a run.


The empty space on the right was for adds, but after putting them up for a month I found sharingzone sales dropped a lot, so i removed them :(
 
Very good site, and the speed of it is good too. Maybe there should be 2 columns of genres on the index, so it won't be in the middle (it is not that pretty this way)

Ps: The ajax search isn't that good too. It seems for me that it searches only for the beginning word, so it will not find "The chronicles in narnia" if i only type narnia (with the ajax search). Instead of the immadiate search you should change it to wait for at least 4 letters, and then search the database for the query entered, but in the whole title. Maybe it is more cpu intensive, but with the four-five letter restriction you will gain a little cpu.

So for example, if i type "nar", no search is made, but if i type "narn" it drops down the aja, with all the titles including that expression.

Also there should be a normal comment system: i will never post with my facebook account on a not so legal (or should i say illegal) site.
 
good site.i dont see an option to register and post movies.perhaps you can have that option and moderate on what needs to be published and what not to be published.this way you can get content for your website
