[VPS] Best OS, Control Panel etc for a wp multisite?

On a VPS Server what is the better to use for the best performance with wp multisite?

  1. Apache, Lighttpd or nginx?
  2. OS?
  3. Free alternative control panel of cpanel/whm (uses less memory and works with point 1)?
  4. Any other suggestion to include?

ok my host setup this unofficial kloxo with Nginx on a new account on vps server

Is it normal that before I move all my sites to have these already ...
Disk Usage:905 MB of 100 GB Used / 99.1 GB Free
Memory Usage:949.3 MB of 2 GB Used
Bandwidth Usage:368.5 MB of 1000 GB Used ??!

Kloxo is a very big resource hog..

Really for the best performance you would look into nginx+php-fpm on centos without a control panel..

But since you need a panel try out webmin or webuzo.. You are limited to apache unless one of these panels come out with new modules to install nginx.
