Hi
I want to Buy a dedicated server from OVH where i can also do Virtualization. I want the main Machine to Run Windows As Main OS Or Linux as Main OS, But I want to run Centos (If Main OS is Windows) in Virtual Machine else want to run Windows in Virtual Machine (If Main OS is Linux).
Main Machine Will have Different IP address and I want to give a different IP Address to Virtualized Machine.

So Can anyone please suggest me which platform do i choose to fulfill my requirements.:)

I think if i have required a freelancer then i have been making this thread in Marketplace not in Technical Help Desk Support

Xen or KVM virtualization will be best,

You can run the main system on Linux and then the virtualized servers can run either windows or linux.

Ohk Thanks Guys, I have purchased an server with Solus VM Master and Activated Trail Version for 15 Days...But when I m trying to use Xen or KVM then i m not getting any Node in Control Panel....What Am I supposed to do and can you please tell me how can i expand Main Disk Space as for VZ its 1.68TB but i want to make main one to atleast 200 GB...How can i do that?

Thanks

You need a Slave Server as Master is not possible with KVM / Xen virtualization.

OpenVZ can just provide you linux VPS, Windows VPS are not possible.

You can buzz me over skype if you need further assistance in setting up.

Hi do i need to install both master and slave version to run Xen and KVM coz i m just checking with installation guidance provided on
Code:
http://docs.solusvm.com/v2/Default.htm#Installation/Installing-Slave.htm%3FTocPath%3DInstallation|_____5
and at the end it is saying "Add This slave to your SolusVM master using the following details." (Please Check last screenshot in above mentioned link)

Thanks

You cant run a master with Xen/KVM virtualization.

Hence you will require both master and slave installation, master can be on any vps.

You would need to install solusvm slave as normal then run the xen/hvm install or configuration and setup as needed.

Then create a container manually by ssh and when the new container is created, install the solusvm master as you normally would so this way you dont hit any issues.

Being that you chose OVH i recommend getting someone to install it for you as OVH's dedicated server kernels are very picky and probably need a normal working kernel to get this working correctly and not forgetting OVH has a horrible network setup which you will need to create a virtual hmac in the OVH panel so each container can get access to the internet.

Bottom line if you are asking the above question that you asked and are getting OVH please hire someone or research before purchasing. You will get frustrated and ask for a refund if you do it yourself.

OVH operation systems are shit for virtualization.

Anyway, everything is clearly explained in the SolusVM documentation. Just get a cheap VPS to install SVM master on it, then install the slave on your dedicated server.
