Hello,

Education system here in india needs a change, Because of the division between SC,ST,OBC and General community students.

SC:- Scheduled Caste: Very poor "backward people", By there "CASTE"

ST:- Scheduled Tribe : People from tribal area.

OBC:- Other Backward Caste:- They are rich, And ruling our country atm.(Upper Caste)

General:- General People from Upper Caste

So the division is "REASERVED SEATS" for SC,ST peoples. If a student from a SC Community scores 55/100 and a student from General Community scores 85/100, The candidate of SC will most likely get the seat in any college. They get benefits in jobs too, on basis of preference.

"Goverment is not hiring deserving candidates"

And that's why we have the most corrupt system in this world. Though out TEACHING system is much better than our education system.

How's the education system in your country?

P.S:- No offence if there is any user from SC/ST community. :)

Regards!

Not at all, though they are trying to improve it since past couple of years. "TRYING".
Though the Quota/Reservation System is pretty bad.

The Syllabus/Course haven't changed since years. It's pretty bad if you look.
Practical knowledge provided to students is negligible.

In other countries it's kinda good. Like If you want to do Biology, then you don't have to be Great in Maths. lol [:P]
But in our country you have to know a little of everything. Pretty Weird. No Specialization courses.

Actually if you see it in another way, its good that you have to learn a little of everything.
There, of course, is specialization of courses later. But not in the +1 stage. At that age a common student may not be in the position to choose their future career and may choose a course and repent for it later. You or somebody else may be an exception but if you see the larger picture then the current system is good. But technology surely needs to come in and I'm seeing it being implemented in schools now.

And the reservation system, damn I hate it!

Agreed, to a certain extent.

But what if the student is not good at everything thrown at him, and interested in say only one or two subjects?

Like, if a person is interested in computers, then theres no point in learning Biology for him/her. Imagine if he is least interested in Biology, and ends up failing in that subject, he will have to repeat that year invariably. He/she ends up repeating an year for a subject which he has no interest in or irrelevant to his future. Is that fair?

If passing knowledge is the issue here then its better to have those subjects as optional and no exams should be conducted for the same. In the above example, Biology!

IMO, the education system is a means to discipline children into being obedient slaves right from a young age. Children spend most of their childhood in school being "educated", being taken away from their families. For example, whenever a child would like to speak freely, they would be punished. They must do as they are told and nothing else. Schools are like prisons.

Why are children not educated on critical thinking as a mandatory subject? To stop children from thinking freely.

Why don't they teach every child the law, but expect every man, woman and child to abide by the law? So people are ignorant of the law, and never question authority.

I am from Brazil and answered 'NO'.

The problem in our system here is that public schools (basic education) are very low quality. If you want a good school, you have to pay for it.

And public post-secondary education (university) are very high quality. Most private ones are not so good.

Most poor people can not afford to pay for a good school and never gets to enter public university (and usually can not afford private ones either). So they remain poor. And rich people, who can pay for good schools, get good grades and enter public university to study for free.

I think basic education (schools) should be free. And post-secondary education (university) should be paid. Not the opposite, as in here.

In Vietnam an education system seems good enough for playing around. If you want to have a big success you must to learn so much, also try to work during studying.

I voted yes. Even though one should never be satisfied with the educational system. There is always room for improvement.

I think every country have it's own unique education systems since there are different culture,language,religion,etc...
And also everyone has different way to learning.... sometimes people only read and can understand, sometimes people need to practices and can understand....
just IMHO... CMIIW.... :)

I'm from Vietnam where education system's goal is not about providing citizen a good mindset and ability to live their own life. All they do is just adding lots of thing we hardly need in real life, so after the test, after graduate, *pew* we forget everything, and at this moment, that is the time we really start to learn.
P.s: They dont want citizen have awareness so they can control easier.

In mi country and just like many others the education sistem did not rly changed in the last 150 years, we have new cars new phones, new mascines and tehnologi just burst and there are changes every day, meanwhile they are doing nothing to upgrade the scolar sistem.poor us and our kids.

The UK - and yes and no.

Catchment areas mean children have to go to schools that are near to them, so more deprived areas have generally worse schools. The kids from those schools get a worse education, thus perpetuating cycles of poverty. Also it is too syllabus based - many teachers are leaving the profession because they can't actually 'teach' anymore. It's all about getting children to memorise things for exams, even in creative subjects like English.

That is crazy! I had no idea it was like that. Is that just to try to change the system and give people from lower castes more of a chance? Positive discrimination to try and address the imbalance?

Do the people from the ruling classes ever change? Or is it always the same caste that is the ruling caste?
