SCT is closing down , Is it just the begining ?

As the subject says, the site Scenetorrents will be closing at 10pm on the 29th November 2009.

IRC has been set so no invite is needed for people to talk and ofc there is the forums which will close tomorrow.

One of the biggest sites on the internet is going down

piratepay , SweDVDr , UK-T and now SCT ??????

Did Anti-Warez organizations start to win their battle ?

What u think ? are we gonna see warez-bb gonna shut down soon ?

you think elio ? ya might be true , but let me tell u something , if large torrents like this are scared from somethin and can't protect themeselves , u think the warez forums will stay alive ? well , I guess most of them ; their owners will shut it down by themselves or by some hacking groups
 
less torrents=more forum trafffic maybe

BUT, less torrents takes away the direct source of our warez imho. p2p/direct only wont be the same.
we get releases on torrents and upload to mirrors, which we post on our forums. correct? so in essence. you take out the torrents, you take out the warez.

at least we still got GFT & WHAT :p thats all i need ;)

oh heard mininova went legal aswell. they removed almost all theyre torrents that were infringing so to speak.

^ Same shit, they download it on their seedbox, do remote upload and try every single way to earn more points. so yes, if there's no torrents how the forums would survive since 80% from the uploaders are same faces.
 
the source will never be killed ..torrents are just a link that can get replaced by another way :) and if some warez forums get scared and close down then so be it ..the weakest ones dont deserve to be around
 
honestly i wouldnt shut down sct or any tracker if it were mine :p id make it paid membership. thats going to be one hell of a business very very soon. paid torrent memberships, mark my words.

anyone care to get in while theyre getting out? :p

but seriously. now is a good time to invest in some badass vpn and windows servers and get a paid torrent site going ;) id be down.
 
Even though some big torrent trackers and indexes are closing i.e. tpb, mininova, etc. there will be even more being made to fill the gaps.

Less availablility torrents will definitely mean more traffic to warez ddl's and forums.

I guess file hosts like rapidshare, mu, hf, etc. will be next to 'go legal'.


We'll just have to wait nd see wat happens..

tell me , do u think warez-center can be comparable with sct :))

and if torrents is a source , ya that's true , but alternatives are thousands time harder , and thousands time slower if u want my opinion .

sct is a paid membership , they are gaining like 20 Euros on each membership , their incomes are like 2k - 4k Euros / month

guys u know nothin about sct

one of the fastest pretime source on the net , it's not easy to be comared with katz or even with warez-center lol

donno what to say , but if sct went down cause of threats , then any site is not far from this tbh

not as the ones that went down , not in quality not in pretime not in anything

and what anti-pirate organizations target is the big ones , not the newbie ones , cause if for example warez-bb will go down , all the rest will go with it .

that may not be the case. many new ones may rise to fill the space..
(as was the case when meganova went down, and when mininova along with many others were made to take its place)

as I said before, we can only wait and see what happens before we can make a valid judgement.
 
The admins / members of their staff team has not commented on this matter. The scenetorrents group on facebook also has no admins left. I really think this is the end for them. I hope the owners are not facing problems or w/e.

BREIN took their primary source down, that's a bummer in my opinion.

We will know more tomorrow at 10AM.
