Best Script For FileHost

$300 for a script? Are you kidding?

You need at least $1500 for a decent script. Another $300 per server and 1 dedicated for website.

One simply does not start a filehost with $1000 in his pocket.
 
Good filehost scripts cost, far more than $1k.

Even then, most of them are terrible. Mashed together by some devs wanting a quick payout.

Glad im not one of those devs *shifty eyes*

As for 'XFS', it really cannot be compared to a quality custom script at all.
Generally people who aren't willing to fund their "filehost venture" use such scripts, and unsurprisingly, fail sooner than those who actually put their own money and effort in.
 
then xfs if good for me :p .. i was thinking that buy xfs and a template design who can design a good template ... with it.. a good dedi.. when it will full i will buy more.. for start a filehost only script and servers need ?? or any thing else..
 
lol dude, ive been following this thread, and you really have no idea do you, how long do you think it will take to fill a server?

I could up 6TB in a matter of hours from various other servers, and what would I have paid you for it ? perhaps $5-$10 for a prem account.

So thats one $80 server full with my shit, and may make you perhaps 2 prem upgrades so there is a $50 loss to start with.

Then ontop of that my downloads will be slow as you only have one server and im banging the shit out of that, so then you get a bad name and thats it DEAD

You cant start with just 1 server my friend, think about server loads etc.

NO NO you need a 4 figure sum to even get on the first rung of the ladder.

I have 8 dedi's right now, and in my mind that prob isnt enough to start a FH with.

But I admire your get up and go, but seriously study what you are doing, or I fear big losses for you !!!

^^^ truly agree.

With just one server, your hosting wont get past one week even.

Megaupload was paying like 9000$ daily (i think i read that in TF news).

So if you want just 1% of traffic they had, even then expect atleast 100$ daily server expense.
 
if u can even spent 1lakh minimum [2000$] then there is no use of opening a filehost..

how will you pay the uploaders ? ads ? ppl won't buy premium that easy i'm in the line from 2008 u have to generate revenue via ads like megaupload did ;) the reason why their free speeds were awesome !

invest some $$$ to earn some $$$$

by ur posts i can tell u don't even know php or anything abt linux.. i'm not an expert either but ur entering in the wrong line.. just my 1cent..

Just an FYI:

Filehosts are almost guaranteed to be at a huge loss for the first two months at least.
Which is why a considerable amount of funding is required usually.

This being because you'll be paying out a hefty sum for servers but have no immediate popularity. Even if you manage to grow it in the first month, people will not buy premium until it becomes more established, especially not enough to cover server costs.

So yeah, reconsider if you don't have the initial funding to back it.

WTF :O:O my some friends was saying that its easy to start a filehost . just buy script and put 1 server into it and lunch it.. when i feel that uploader are getting sales and u r in profit and server is full then buy a server .. and after that when ever a server full buy a new one..

and WJ user are saying its toooo much difficult like to much loss in this bussniss .. and i agree with uu .. if u start a filehost only plans are not important . uploader need uploading speed downloaders need download speed if they did't get they will open diputes.. .. if i need 10 mb uploading speed how many server i need.. coz i think at first 10 mb speed is good after that we can improve it... with the passage of time.

Guy was right, filehosts are not that safe to run anymore, you could end up in jail, who knows.

So again, stay the hell away from filehost business as you have no idea what are you talking about.

look I have XXXX figures to chuck around and im obviously in the "dodgy" game but not even im not dull enough to start a FH up.

Im thinking about giving ad.fly a bit of comp but thats about as hard as im going in, I already have torrent sites so im no noob, but dude give the FH idea a miss
 
bro for file sharing u need to have as start min 3k$

a good server with 10TB HDD should cost at least 700$ - 1000$
with at least 24GB RAM
proccessor preferable xeon
best DC for file sharing as u all know #1 is leaseweb #2 choopa (i dont know if they accept any more ) and #3 is WebaZilla


now also u need a unique design with some mod from xfs that will cost min 700$


after that u need to promo ur site with 2-5k so u can get some money later

my advice filesharing project need min 5000$ for start and then abt 1-2K $ each month

with 5k $ mate u can easy buy any adsense site from flippa.com that make you each month 400-700$ or more
 
i dont know why but most of the people who replied also have no idea of a filehost ie how much it cost and according to the calculation that i have made when i was going to start a filehost it didnt take me higher than 1.5 k max
 
I once got paid to plan out the creation and such of a filehost.

They cost far more than $1.5k, often at least 3-4k. $1.5k would fund 1-2 months and would be a guaranteed loss as it takes months to become established and breaking even.

Your calculations likely didn't take some things into account or the fact that the first 2-3 months will be a definite loss.
