WJunction Signature of the Week Contest # 6 - Apocalypse
Post your entry in this thread during the SOTW entry period. Feel free to rate and dicuss the entries in this thread.


The theme for this week is "Apocalypse":
Anything that resembles an apocalypse/destruction/end of the world.

18th August 2013

Ends:
25th August 2013

Rules:
- Must make a signature related to "apocalypse"
- Only one entry per person
- All entries must be made during the SOTW period
- All entries must contain the text "wjunction" or "wjunction.com"
- Maximum size of the signature should not exceed 500 x 150 px
- You may include your WJunction username (optional)

How to participate:
Post your entry in this thread before the deadline.

Prizes:
- Glory and honor :dan:
- $10 Prize money via Paypal or Payza
- One invite to IPT
- Your signature added to the Hall of Fame
- Decides the next SOTW theme

Winners will be decided via polling.


PS:
Post all entries in this thread, entries will not be accepted past the deadline.

Should create a rule so that all signatures are created from SCRATCH!!! And no stock images from other websites can be used. This gives the talented photoshoppers something to work for.

GeekHosting has just slapped on "Wjunction", and that's basically it.
Heres the stock image.

AJ Blacklisted has just cropped the image and slapped on "Wjunction", and that's basically it.

Just my opinion, I just think better rules should be applied, otherwise more and more people will just Google images "Apocalypse", find an image, put on Wjunction text and enter it as their own work. That's not worthy for ANY of the prizes in my opinion. If your going to use a stock image, at least CHANGE it somewhat.

I like what Ashley said, but when Mr.X posted his image creation for the SOTW right after and included the original image it made me think that maybe if you use a stock image you should tag along with your post the original one just like Mr.X did.
 
Including the original stock image would be a really good idea. It show's that Mr.X took the time to change the stock image and make his creation amazing!! Good job

and FYI my work is not just a Googling > Crop > Slap.

Nothing is wrong with that geek, he made a good point about a way to improve the contest, the contest isn't about time saving methods like you mentioned in your post, it's about creating a cool graphic work.

If you wish to have a time saving contest consult the staff for that.

Actually I admitted your point of using Stock Images, but u r pissin me with just Googling, Cropping, Resizing, text gradient..

The rule must be revised..
I think you can use stock as long as it is a STOCK image that came from ShutterStock,sxc.hu,istock,fotolio,deviantArt stock..and other site.... NOT GOOGLE

Those images that are used by the other entrants are finished artworks.(not stock image)..
Those artist spend time on that and you just rip it off.. by putting your Name and telling "Hey this is my work/entry"..haha

Provide your stock, manipulate it... those artworks must served as an inspiration only..

We thought it would be common sense that ripping other peoples work is not allowed.

New rules will be applied from the next SOTW onwards to make it clear.


Please keep entries coming in for this week, deadline is tomorrow.
