Jesus doesn't anyone know how explorer.exe works? It can be altered. Meaning that tablet metro UI bullshit can be taken out...
Anyways, I'm kind of still debating whether I should upgrade through piracy or not.. Once I get the funds (which is pretty soon), I'll probably pay. For now, its through piracy, and that's for personal reasons.
Im still a little bit on the fence about this. I dont like the touch-screen feel of windows 8, but I do agree that a single OS for all devices is a good thing. Its hard because the current trend is heading towards mobile devices, and the market for desktop PC's is falling rapidly. Its a "damned if you do/dont" situation.
My personal feelings are that I missed the boat when it comes to facebook/twitter/etc.. I dont understand why they are so popular, yet they are, hugely, and the same goes for Win8. I dont "get it". But i didnt with facebook either, so that would mean that its "me" that doesnt get it, and not that its a "fail idea". As a .net software developer I'm forced to work with growing trends whether I like/understand them or not, so Im going in with an open mind and giving it a fair chance. I certainly like the minimalistic feel of windows 8. You get the feeling that a lot of the bloat has been removed and replaced with simpler, optimized alternatives.
I will most likely purchase a legit copy and download a bootloader, because Microsoft's limit of 25 "online validations" is annoying after a few months. I re-install more than i change my socks tbh. Still, I shall support the Microsoft boat by purchasing a copy.
I will downgrade it to windows xp from windows 7 but never ever upgrade to win 8 because win 8 is actually made for tablet pc not for real computers. Windows 8 looks good on tablet not on desktops or laptops.
I would rather get a small touch screen computer with windows 8 for the living room, hook it up to the regular tv, and use it as a tablet to control the sound/tv/ect. like a remote control that lets me surf the web as I watch tv ;-)
I am looking forward to buying the Microsoft's Intel Based Surface Tablet with Windows 8 when it comes out.
THAT would be the Real tablet according to me. The whole/actual computer in your hands (y)
