Hello all,

Having realized that some of my sites are all based on .com & .net for the sake of being easy to remember.

I've read & witnessed a lot of domain names being taken over by the USA if the extension ends in .com/.net So i'm planning to make a new site similar to VEVO.com (music) but differently obviously.

I noticed domain registrars are now accepting different TLDs other than .com/.net

So ultimatley, what domain extenstions are safe to use (without the fear of USA being able to control or take over) ?

.to is okay.
to get personal informations, they have to directly talk with tonic
Whois-Infos you can get out of the system for .to:
https://www.tonic.to/whois?kickass.to

as for domain-registrars with .so
i think namecheap has them (and they have whois, but it's an us-company)
as well as cinipac: https://www.support.cinipac.com/domainchecker.php
OVH: https://www.ovh.com/fr/domaines/tarifs/ (with some semi-whois protection)
i personally like marcaria.com (though i think they don't have whois-protection :/ )

sorry. seems like the only ones i know are us-based
(except cinipac - the prices are more or less the same everywhere)

edit
with prq you can only register default (.com .net etc)
or .se and .nu
