It's just a submission to the search engines themselves, to save yourself time from doing each one manually.

It doesn't create links, or anything like that.. It leaves it on those service's to either accept or decline your submission on their own.. However to my knowledge, all of these are public and freely accept submissions.. The question would be 'when?'.

However, I figure letting them know a new website exists can't hurt!

@red_lover - when you have completed it, you will get an email or two from a few of the search engines/directories which require email confirmation.

If you enter a valid email.. Otherwise you miss out on those.

Once again it seems the list of search engines and directories has been revamped.
Also just wanted to mention that this tool is not yet dead, like the many others which come and go.
