SOPA protesters send emails to the wrong SOPA site
By John Callaham

The people who opposed the Stop Online Piracy Act bill in the US House of Representatives did an amazing thing last week. Thousands of web sites blacked themselves out for a day to protest the bill. As a result, the vote on SOPA in Congress has been delayed indefinitely.

Now it looks like there are a few people who opposed SOPA by taking their message to a SOPA site. The problem? It was the wrong one. As The Register reports, the official web site for the Scottish Organic Producers Association (SOPA) has been hit with "dozens" of emails from people who believe that the site is in some way related to the Stop Online Piracy Act.

The site clearly states that this SOPA is not the same SOPA that was the subject of the Internet blackouts last week. That didn't stop some people from sending in emails via the web site's contact form that went like this example:

Stop what you are doing. NOW. Your laws are stupid!! We love entertainment. I'd copyright all i want!! Problem? I'd do it to entertain friends, Family and even strangers!! You pass and you'll be hated everywhere in the world! Why can't you fat f*** americans get this in your uneducated heads?!
We imagine there are a lot of organic farmers in Scotland who are either very confused or are having a good laugh right now.
