Ah ok.. my friend i linked ya to uses a drum machine, then plays all teh guitar bass and vocals and mixes them all himself, you might like his stuff

Your friends kit sounds very robotic and I would tweak the tone slightly but the vocals are mixed really good.

Line 6 UX1. One day I'll mic up my rig and go from there but I would need a sound insulated room.

You mean a sound proof booth, and you could use Pro Tools LE 8.0 with Rewire and record live sound or w/e

I'm enjoying pod farm atm in truth plus i would rather not change my DAW atm.

well yeah pod farm is good for your type of music engineering since you are mostly playing off guitar, it suits you since you are using "plug-in" sound. Venture off into Pro Tools if you get bored of it, its an incredible digital audio workstation among many others also.
