Has anyone ever went out in search of gold?

I'm going to give it a go in spring, I live in England so I'm gonna have to go hit certain hotspots which is lame but yeah, let me know if you've done it and if you've had luck \o/

Gone are those days where you can get gold out on random places. We live in greedy and selfish era. Nothing stays where it should have been.. lol

Take a six fingered tortoise with you , it can sense gold/silver easily .

People are doing it in Scotland, apparently they get constant amounts of gold even though small in quantity but the logic behind gold is that it travels in streams and waters, especially those connected to the sea then when storms hit mountains and stuff bits of rock break off that contain quartz veins which usually indicates a likelihood of gold because carbonisation or something has occurred, it's still over my head but it seems pretty cool to start up as a hobby.
