If you follow P2PON posts then you’ve probably heard about Winny – the most popular p2p client in Japan. Well, a rather funny security issue is linked to the Winny file sharing network which currently has as many as 200 million users.

Reportedly, some Winny users have had the misfortune of coming across a pretty wicked virus while searching for some wicked adult content (namely, hentai porn).

OK, so what’s the deal with this virus? Apparently it was developed to trick Internet users into downloading a file that presents itself as the porn file they might want, but once clicked on, it publishes your browser history while asking a small fee ($10) in exchange for its discretion (to keep the information confidential). Ain’t that a bugger?!

It seems that, so far, the porno-virus has made more than 5,000 victims but since Trend Micro in Japan said it will address the situation, you can sigh in relief – your colleagues at work will not find out about your peculiar tastes. Damn, the intimacy!
