Mass file renamer?

Is there a program that can mass rename files? example if the filename is
[Hatsuyuki-Hadena]_Ao_no_Exorcist_-_03_[704x400][18A41F67].avi it should get renamed to ANE03.avi

So to make it clear, you want a script (via PHP, Python or what?) that removes the content within the [brackets] then remove the _ and - (which would now leave you with: AonoExorcist03) and only get the first letter of each word to end up with "ANE03.avi". You want it to work like that on every single filename in a folder?
