for filesonic, it seem they had server on US and EU
since if you want to ftp your files, they give 2 server, us and eu.
does it's mean they had server at US?
or it just for ftp server, and than they push the file to EU server?

copxxx, you're right... But most of these file hosts have registered corporations in many countries. Especially: Virgin Islands, Cyprus, Hong Kong and other countries without web registry of corporations. So you really can't know for sure if a real corporation owns a file host, or if they're all just dummy aka shell corporations.
@garuda
They're on WebaZilla's network, and they have datacenters in many countries, so the files are probably always distributed through the servers from their major DCs.
Will non-US servers and offices make a difference?
Thank you very much for your list!
First off let me say I'm not looking to make major money from file hosting. My goal is to make enough to pay for my own premium account and torrent box. If I get 30 USD a month I'm happy. Also I share a lot of documentaries which don't get a lot of downloads so I'm looking for a new file host that will keep files forever when you use a premium account.
The FAQ for depositfiles says it will only keep files for 180 days from last download for a premium account (90 days for free account)
So based on your list I signed up for filejungle and letitbit. Uploaded.to is not an option for me because I am in US. I was planning on keeping Filesonic because your list says it was outside US
filesonic.com:Netherlands / HongKong
But now filesonic has shut down it's affiliate. So just staying away from US doesn't seem to be enough.
Based on:
- my goals (earning low money)
and
- needs (premium user files stay up forever, must be able to access from US)
and
- Netherlands / Hong Kong companies are also closing their affiliate programs
My question is:
- What fileservers do you recommend?
- Are there "safer" server countries?
