So on the recent system i built i went with a lower end 775 socket cpu a celeron @ 2.5 ghz, and 4GB of ram x2 2GB sticks ~ 333mhz

Its not a bad system honestly it is actually quite quick.
As i built it to replace my aged dell latitude.

The full specs are below

How ever im currently in between rather or not i should upgrade the ram and get x2 2Gb sticks of 800mhz because i know it would be a maijor improvment or should i upgrade to a core 2 duo ?

"I would get a core 2 qaud but the budget is slim as its a build as you go machine"

What i have found on ebay.

Swap the CPU

The Bigger the Better i aint a gamer so my score is too low to be shown and 4GB is the RAM highest u need to play Mid Range Games and Stuff

Won't be long when that setup will be obsolete.. Get a DDR3 RAM if the mobo supports it :) ..
DDR3 is on it's way out, DDR4 will most likely be out by christmas or q1 2012

I would upgrade the cpu honestly, I just bought myself a q6600 for $95 off a guy used for my HTPC, check them out on ebay, they usually go for 90 to 130 but there the best entry level quad ever made and probably the most popular. I myself though use a q9400 for this rig which does the job well, also have you thought of possibly overclocking your current cpu?

The above post is right, if you want the best performance boost a SSD would give you it

Also how did you get that grey screen with all your specs? mind telling me the program?.

@ biohost its called speccy

And yeah this is just a budget rig to last until jan thats when i plan on geting a mobo that supports ddr3 & the i series of intel

Yea, they had a sale on NewEgg a while back. It only cost me $80 more than the Crucial 8GB. It doesn't do much, the true beasts of my rig are the 580's in sli <3

Why do you people say for him to buy new cpus if his socket doesnt support them :D

Mate I would recommend you to save your money, and then when you will have enough buy some i5proc, good motherboard supporting it and ram ;)
Your recent upgrade wont be cost effective ;)

This is only until Jan guys in Jan ill be building a new pc geting a new mobo, hard disk drives, & ram :p waiting for the i9 :)
