Any help would be highly appreciated, I have not idea what to do :(

have you tried  viewing this log?  Posting it will help with more information.

I like nano :)

sudo nano /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Never used X server so thats the most I can help you with the posted information.
 
You upgraded kernel - i also had this problem - nvidia drivers werent loading after update - just wget new drivers and install them - all will load fine.
