Which is incredible considering this is the NL rdp.
Duckload upload speed is also pretty good - 3 mb/s per file.
Now, the download speeds: Fileserve speed isn't very consistent. It's usually around 4 mb/s but sometimes goes to 20 mb/s and sometimes to 600 kb/s. Filesonic is great, goes up to 80 mb/s with 3 files downloading.
Torrents obviously depend on the seeds but i got a top download speed of 14 mb/s downloading something off SCC.
The performance of the rdp itself is also good. I haven't faced any of the slow raring problems people have been complaining about though. There is almost 0 lag, unlike US RDP's i have used. This is probably due to the fact that i live in Europe so i have lower ping to EU rdps. Also the support is top notch, i opened a ticket and received a very quick response. I give this RDP a 10/10

People rarely ask for RS speeds but being an uploader I love uploading to RS and these are the uploads done just 10 minutes ago and the Rapidshare Speeds are shown below

Any reason for restarting the NL server once every 16-24 hours?

Please give more than 5 minutes when restarting.
10 or 15 will do it.

We restart the servers in order to provide better performance and speeds. From now on we will consider your request and intimate you abit earlier before we do that.

Servers are restarted once ever 24 hours.

What If I queue some files in some program over night and you restart?
Not all programs has nice 'recovery' - resulting in half downloaded files / half uploaded files / half rar'ed files / half un-rar'ed files etc.

I could live with having to test all downloads or uploads once in a while.
But every night (if I queue some files)?

Must be some other method than a restart.
Or at least a restart plan - like every day at 00:00 or something.

Well, I understand what you quoted and I have the experience with these things too. From now on we will discuss and decide that should be done in this regard and will have a better plan to serve you better. So nothing to worry as of now.

Solomon server will be under maintenance in a few minutes and there will be change of HDDs too. So kindly note this and wait until we are back which won't take a long while.

server reboots every day is very good idea - that keeps server clean of resourse hogs and speed is always fast. ive used almost all rdp services in wj, and theres always some user in server who thinks all resourses belongs to them to use. so regular restart = fantastic idea :) gonna join again

imo torrenting should not be allowed on regular rdp plan, because it kills disk io

That looks good... and do you guys install software which isn't already there on the server? I'll be needing 1 app ( it isn't a resource hog at all)
