Does uploading in hotfile thru ftp is secure? Last week my hotfile account was hacked while I'm uploading. I know my machine was clean from keylogger and any trojan.

how about you guys? Did you experienced this while uploading to hotfile?

I use hotfile/netload/storage FTPs for 1+ year now, and hever had any problems. It has nothing to do with the fact you are currently uploading. FTP uploading and revealing a password is pretty much not connected at all.

Of course that everything what's not encrypted is unsafe 8-)

The original FTP specification is an inherently unsecure method of transferring files because there is no method specified for transferring data in an encrypted fashion. This means that under most network configurations, user names, passwords, FTP commands and transferred files can be captured by anyone on the same network using a packet sniffer.
