The direction of the Respected group as changed over time. At first it was trusted webmaster, for people who owned sites. Then it was for respected people in the community. Sad to say in my opinion the knowledge and maturity of people in the respected rank has dropped. It has lost its whole meaning as lots of people in the group shouldn't be. I have a thread that lists all of them as Elj said to pm who should and shouldn't be in the group. I haven't had any time to go through it, nor think I should. Mass Respected Demotion would be the best way, and have strict guide lines to get in to make it actually mean what the title says, RESPECTED!

I don't think it should be a yes or no poll, and I also don't think everyone should be demoted. There are people wearing the rank that deserve it. And I'm not judging that based on them being my friends, but I've seen them help out and whatnot. So, I say no, don't demote everyone. But, do demote those that kinda, haven't done much.
 
Bring back the Respected Webmaster rank and give it to people who have sites with an alexa rank under 30,000 :D

Only a few will have the rank :D
 
i am for a mass demotion of the respected members usergroup,i dont think we need to eliminate the group completely,but perhaps time for a clean slate?
 
@exel - yea you may be right but it is just easier by doing it all at once I think. By doing it that way you will keep people in the group who really shouldn't be there, starting fresh is easier imo. Don't get me wrong not saying you or anyone (not saying exactly who) is on my stay or go list but it would be easier.

@tippie - exactly I think it will bring back respect to the group. The members picked should follow the rules, set a good example



I never said to remove it, but clean it up and readd proper people who are deserving
 
How about we just reform and not have a respected group. That way people like Deleted can stop btching and whining about stupid things like this.

This way, we'll have members and staff only.

I'm also not in favor with removal of the group or demoting them all.......but the members in the group should only be those who really deserve the rank and not some bunch of noobs or potential scammers.
 
Change it back to Respected Webmasters and only put people that really care about their sites and run them like a real business (not like a joke) with passion and not for money.

Yea if thats what people want, and the ugly brown can go bye bye. That really isn't the point of the thread. Regardless if your joking but using all caps in the chatbox for over an hour is beyond a joke and a bad influence for new members. One of the problems with the rank =)

The people who follow the rank bs. probably shouldn't be on this forum. IT'S JUST A RANK. IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU AUTHORITY OVER ANYTHING. IT DOESN'T DEFINE YOU.

Close the thread and stop being a faggot.
