So gonna reformat today, was thinking about getting the official Windows 7 RC, but it's closed. Then I figured I'd just go and find some less legal release and hit up a search on Katz, but I have no clue which is what :D

Any recommendations?
Or just install my old XP again, and wait for better releases?

Windows 7 is a lot LOT lighter on its feet. I get the feeling they have re-written Vista, and this is what you get. A few bugs. When you put your computer to sleep it seriously goes bonkers, 96% memory useage and grinds to a halt (on a Q9550@3.7GHz + 4GB RAM) but apart from that it seems perfectly, beautifully efficient. 9.8 / 10

Vista proves how overweight it is after you use 7, XP shows its age..

XP is aging, however it has everything one needs. IMHO all 7 does is add a bit of bling and unneeded stress to your PC. But in the end it's all gonna depend on taste. In my view an OS should be as efficient and lite as possible so apps/games get the full potential of your hardware. 7, just like Vista (though 7 does a wee bit better), is more about bloat (and a lot of it) than it is about it's actual purpose, operating. And MS knows this, that's why they try and force people to Vista/7 wherever possible with bullsh*t like DirectX 10 and whatnot.
