what is the benifit of free imgaehosting sites?

Hi. can anyone tell me what is the main/hidden benefit of image hosting sites like lulzimg.com, imagekit.info.

no benefit except the adspots....mostly they do it for the lulz

Takes the load of having to process images off your webserver.

Lets say you wanted to rent a cheap server, its not going to handle database and image request very well. So you move the images to somewhere like photbucket, and that the photobucket server handle the images.

You save on bandwidth loads. If you mean for the owners, then not much for most of us.
