what do you like more? single file/link downloads or multiple parts?

this question is for the downloaders... not for the uploaders... i know that for the uploaders is better multiple because they can earn more.

1. single download links (only 1 part/file)
2. mulriple download links (part1,part2,part3,part4,...)

also my opinion on this is:

if the filehost allows really high speed download like 10MBIT (1000kbps) then 1 file downloads are the best.

else

you can split the .avi (example) file in more parts as long as there is at least 1 good file host with decent download speed for free users. so that all the parts can be downloaded at the same time, each part from another filehost.

part1.rar - uploaded on x7.to
part2.rar - uploaded on megaupload.com
part3.rar - uploaded on fileserve.com
part4.rar - uploaded on duckload.com

so that you can download all 4 parts at once. this way you can download as a free user in the fastest way possible. because if a filehosts limits the download speed, then if you for example download from each of this filehost with 200kbps then you can download the complete movie or whatever with 800kbps at the same time. i hope that you understood what i wanted to say.

As u are saying Download of different PARTS from diiferent hosts at same time. It wont be possible as u wont see many uploaders giving 4 mirrors. U'll barely see 2 Hosts of One File.

As a downloader I like multiple parts as its easier for me to max out my connection that way. As an uploader I like single links as I hate to rar files and manage so many parts of thousands of files in my account.
 
personally i prefer single links and not .rar files , i downlaod them directly to my player and play them on TV
but not all my visitors like single link bcz they all dont have broadband and its not easy for them to downlaod big files , if download failed in 80 % thats pain in ass for them
i use 4 mirrors so they can download 4 parts of a movie in same time
 
^^ Yeah me too, single link is better then rar files :P..all people won't download rar file because of missing rar files or wrong password or something -_-!

dude this is unless,you can upload both parts to same host also post multiple links

ex:
part1.rar/part2.rar/part3.rar/part4.rar - duckload.com
part1.rar/part2.rar/part3.rar/part4.rar - megaupload.com
part1.rar/part2.rar/part3.rar/part4.rar - fileserve.com
part1.rar/part2.rar/part3.rar/part4.rar - filesonic.com
 
Single links. Especially for free users who have to wait. The last part may be gone by the time you get to it.
The option say for multiple hosts could take cre of that problem tho.
 
Personally, I have used that methode.

It's a bit tricky, but if you upload a large file, split it to 200/400MB parts and upload one part to one host. If you have 8 parts, upload to 8 hosts, it's a nice methode to earn a few extra bucks although keep in mind that the downloaders wont purchase premiums on these links because that would just be a waste of money for him.

But, as a downloader I do prefer downloading single links from either filesonic or fileserve, mostly because I have already got myself a premium account on both of these hosts and they are giving me superb speeds and wont let me down when it comes to downloading.

As an uploader I am trying to provide 1GB links, or sometimes i'm splitting them to 400mb+ for the moneys sake :P
 
this has been discussed many times here, but I personally like single file links since i'm a free user now. tut2tut's idea would work but i'd never trust it myself. Not to mention I refuse to download from many file hosts and try to stick to more common places. I had some uploaders one time that tried to use multiple hosts for a single set of rars and I demoted them. Not sure what katz rules are on that. But yes singles are much better for free users but not good for greedy uploaders ;)

More parts = more time (get fetched etc)
One link = ready = go = start movie / app.
Multiple wait wait wait
+++ for free users (alot)

yes... you must wait if all the parts are on the same file host, but if every part is on a different one then you can download all at the same time. without premium acc.

EDIT: crap... no idea why it didn't merged my 2 last posts. :/ normally it does automatic.

anyways... i mostly download only movies and tv shows... so if single links then i prefer .avi too and not .rar because then you know that you don't need a password etc. i mostly download single files.

but sometimes if i find more parts on different filehosts, then i download like this too... also every part from a different file host. but of course if there are really many parts... like more then 6 then i don't like it too... just too many... like 2 or 4 parts is still ok if you have the chance to download every one of them from a different filehost, so that you can download them all at the same time, else it's crap.

thanks to all! i guess single links are the best. :P or max. 4 parts but they must all be on good file hosts. like: megaupload x7 fileserve duckload etc.
