Sorry lw to oppose your closing decision, but I'm very interested.

Is boxhead hacking websites because he has a personal dilemma with those guys or he just wants to earn cash by securing servers as he said?

Lately I've seen a lot of posts "boxhead this boxhead that", what's the deal exactly?

Boxhead, you are either very talented or very lucky, don't you think you can use that in a better way for everyone? if you want to earn some cash you should open a website and offer those services.

If your talents are as your reputation for hacking websites, I'm sure half of the webmasters here will hire you. You're basically trying to bring customers in by fear, which will fail at the end, try a different approach, the correct market approach.

That is of course if you are doing this to earn money, if you're doing it to challenge yourself, then buddy, warez websites are not the real challenge.

He didn't really do much it seems.

Suspended a few domains, changed an index.php.
Easily resolved, still checking logs and such though as I doubt that's all he did.

Probably some DA exploit, wouldn't surprise me.

It would be helpful if you post how he was able to get in your server JmZ, maybe other members will be able to tell the common elements. (ie: same exploit used over and over) That is of course if you found out how he got in.

Well he definately left enough logs behind, so i'll post once i'm done reading them.

Edit:
w4ck1ng shell found, not a surprise.
could've exploited my forum, but then that doesn't explain how he exploited other peoples' sites too.
better change thread title from "hacked" to "exploited".

I'm fairly sure this guy is using public exploits. Nothing that interesting or '1337'. Judging by the last time I saw him in the chatbox his IQ doesn't qualify for the real stuff. Basically, every site he hacks doesn't update enough or is using (popular?) software which contains well known exploits all the time.

He is, he's using a w4ck1ng shell, one of the most public php shells in existence.
He most likely exploited my forum or something, since that's the central place he attacked.

To be honest, I think this is all pretty funny.
It just shows everyone security isn't a joke, especially when their database gets dumped and released to the public.
