Hello.

I have a VPS hosted with knowinservers.com. They said I amusing too much of their server's resources and abusing it. Yesterday the load peaked at 167.

I have RL users under this VPS and all they do is transfer files and RAR/UNRAR and all the stuff you can do with Rapidleech.

This morning I disabled all of my RL users and tried to monitor the stats in my control panel. Here are the graphs:

I was only uploading using my main Rapidleech when this screenshot was taken.

Please help me interpret these graphs especially the "Load" one. And I just want to know what the safe load is and the number which I should not exceed.

Here is my stats in the last 12 hours:

My RAM is 768 MB, not burstable. CPU is Xeon 5640L 6 -Cores.

I have discovered that uploading causes too much load. I used Rapidleech to simultaneously upload 20 files to hotfile earlier and the server reached again a ridiculous 40 load!

Is this normal? When raring, unraring and using thumbnailer the load does not even touch 1. I am extremely perplexed right now. :(

The load will be due to HDD IO. If you have multiple people using RL, raring and unraring, uploading and downloading, the HDD can't keep up.

Of course, on a VPS your HDDs are shared with others. If you're such a heavy user that the load on your VPS goes so high, it might be time to get a dedicated server.

I found out what causes the server load. It is uploading via Rapidleech or remote uploading to file hosts! I tested uploading 20 files simultaneously and then the load rocketed again. Is this really normal for a VPS? When unraring and raring or unzip and zipping the load does not get very high.
