Hey everyone, I was just wondering, if I download a program from the author's website, and install the trial. Then use a the keygen to get a serial, is it safe?

I don't mean it that way lol I mean if I get the legal version from the REAL website, then run the keygen through KIS sandbox, is it 100% safe, or is there a possibility that it could infect me, if it is a virus?

If you do that you should be safe. Another you thing you could do is install a decent firewall and set the security high (that it asks for EVERY connection what to do). But then again a sandboxed environment should be safe enough =]
 
I recommend to download it from their homepage...

And always check the NFO for serial keys if available..

Be careful with opening keygens.. you should get your keygens from trusted people only or directly from the scene release.
 
If you run it in Sandbox it should be fine,
If you download a keygen from a respected reversing team it will be clean,
The way they are packed sometimes set off antivirus but its just teh way there packed.
You could always install wireshark & monitor connections.
 
That's what I mean, the software itself is downloaded direct from the official website, but the keygen is not (obviously) lol. The keygen is from DVT, but if you say it should be fine in sandbox, I am happy.
