I have doing this since a long time, a quick way to check your uploaders post to check the files it contains, without downloading.

It can also be used for various other purposes, like downloading a particular file in the archive.

You need -

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • ArchView Firefox addon. Click Here.
  • Premium account of the host the file is hosted on. (Eg: RS/HF)

Note: It won't use any bandwidth. :)

Install the addon and restart Firefox.
Enable direct downloads in your premium account. (Very important)

Look at the right-bottom of Firefox.

You would see a symbol like this - [slide]http://screensnapr.com/u/l9esyr.png[/slide]

Click on it so that a magnifying glass appear. (Activated) - [slide]http://screensnapr.com/u/r2tlnq.png[/slide]

Now, login to your premium account in Firefox.
Open the post you want to check.

Ctrl+ Click (or middle mouse button) on the RS/HF links to open the ArchView display in new tabs.

Generally, those nfo, txt files and other small files are either on the 1st part or on the last part of the upload.

So if the movie has 7 parts, checking 1st and 7th is enough.

I have been using this for about a month it saves a lot of time and if you see a suspect password.txt file you can download it in a sec from the archive :)

^ Here's what I did. I have removed all the file types from IDM and Installed FlashGot.

So whenever you download something you get to choose whether you want to download with IDM or not.

and that way Archview works like a charm for me. :D
