Thoughts on "Good Bye" Threads

Alright I always wondered why people make good bye threads. If you are going to leave, why not just leave? You want to add extra drama, or is it to let people know your leaving? If your leaving only a few important people really should know not the whole site.

Plus think I make a thread I'm leaving because of reason whatever, the replies after in the thread mean nothing if the person is truly leaving. They won't see the replies, so why make the thread. If they do indeed come back to see what people say did they actually leave?

I am always confused when I see those threads, if your going to leave, then leave. Anyways your thoughts?

Phamous Not saying I don't believe you however please provide a link as I did try to search before hand. I didn't see anything so I created the thread.

My Exams got over on the 30th that's the reason I'm much more active than before.

Well it depends, i think if someone contributed to this community he should be respected alot and we can do this by replying hes goodbye thread aswell, dont u think same guys?
 
Their are cases where it's called for DeLeTeD. Generally it's not needed. If you've exams or holidays you definitely don't need to make a thread.

In my opinion their's a certain type of person that makes them threads which is fine. It's the same type of people you see making milestone threads. Some people are generally more vocal and attention seekers and other's are more quiet and restraint. It's their personality. Their's no need for any rules on it. If that was the only problem on WJ you wouldn't be blue.
 
I honestly think that its just to raise post count and those who post "bye" or some stupid crap like that are just doing the same. Why is there no need for a rule? I know posters get infracted regularly for "pointless posting" and I think that is about the most pointless posting you could possibly do!
 
Lets not go sucking each dicks here agreeing with each other. You all know if it is some respected member you all use your stupid crying smilies and beg them to stay.
