ding ding ding we have a winner.

If your switching from windows and never used linux before ubuntu is great. It still has a nice gui, however powerful and customizable. You can get use to terminal and when you get good you will see the real reasons why linux is the best. Then you can flip to something like centos (one of my fav) :)

Go for Ubuntu, the most popular Linux Distribution, so it'd be easier to get support etc.

I have it on both my laptop and PC, and some servers...

i recommend ubuntu good for the beginner and the expert i tried many flavors of linux but i found ubuntu the best well better is superos 10.10(modified version of ubuntu) it has everything u need.no need of downloading extra codecs etc it has it all(most of them) and the best part is linux is free to install and free to try

Ubuntu all the way!
I used it for a number of months but wine didn't support photoshop, well it did but crashed when trying to use text tool so went back to windows 7 for photoshop. But if it wasn't for that i'd still be using Ubuntu. Fast & Simple & Powerful!
