I didn't said you need to create your own theme, there are billion premade themes out there. There is nothing worse then starting warez blog and trying to copy other warez blogs.

Scnsrc and Oneddl didn't got big because of theme or name, but because they got good content and originality.

you can get big by using hybrid 0.9 as well.

concentrate more on content and community aspect rather than visual aspect.
