ok i just saw a mod closing a thread by posting blogspot sites are not allowed to sell/buy.

i have confusion, i have site which is on .com or any custom domain [net/org/in/us/etc..] but hosted at blogger but google & all search engine crawls custom domain not blogspot subdomain

is it allowed?

How to transfer a blogspot site?

" you can download the blogspot backup & upload it to your id & point domain [original custom domain] everything will be same & Ready to Rumble in minutes"

or transfer to wordpress.

Edit: Judging by comments you can sell site which is hosted at blogger but must have custom domain which does not came free & generally we did not provide hosting along with site database+domain. you can use on blogger after buying as it was or transfer to anywhere where you want like wordpress.

blogger is free blog system like Wordpress but exceptions to many features

bro there is a way to transfer whole blog, you can download the blogspot backup & upload it to your id & point domain, everything will be same & Ready to Rumble in minutes.

like import, export

then you are selling the domain along with the database[backup as it is called here]
i cant comment on whether its allowed(or should be) here.thats a different story
theres nothing wrong imo selling the domain+backup.its no different to any other sale.

Dont' know the thread but you can sell a website powered by blogspot script and a site if it's not a blogspot subdomain. If it's a real domain it doesn't matter where it's hosted as you generally don't provide hosting with the sale.

If you have example.blogspot.com you can't sell it but if you have example.com that's hosted on Google that's fine as the new owner can move it to whatever host he likes. The blogspot script can be used on any server not just a Google server. It's a script very similar to Wordpress.
That brings up another point. You can easily migrate a blogspot site to Wordpress.

@ sceneguy
yap as usual

Mr happy
thanks for clearing it, that was my point as well

Edit: So its ok to sell as long as you have custom domain

Technically yes as it's not a free blog as the domain isn't free.

You will have to state in your sales thread that hosting is not provided but you can leave it on Google Servers at the buyers own risk. You must give them a copy of the database - not just access to the free hosting.

If He is Selling Someone a usefull thing while .blogspot.com or .com domain. in my opinion he has some thing which is usefull and someone intreseted with in so why he has not right to sell it????

I would like to correct your concept of Importing and Exporting.
LOL, you need not do those things to transfer to someone. You can just add a admin from "Settings" and give him all permissions, remove yourself from the blog, vola ! Done :)

That's true but I'd still give them a copy of the database via PM or email. Let's say you made the guy admin but a few minutes later Google deleted it all before he got a chance to login. You'd have cries of scam and everything is lost so it's more an added protection in covering yourself if something went wrong. Yes it's unlikely but why take the risk?

Yeah, i second that. That can be done for the risk cover. But if the site is completely Legit, i dont think there would be any problems. :)

As Mr Happy has already specified - you are allowed to sell your blogspot/blogger site as long as its a domain you own and not a sub-domain of blogspot/blogger.
