Script install.

Basically i've got a script and wanting to install it etc..

But on the install page it shows..

[COLOR=Red]MySQL root password:[/COLOR]                                                           
Used for setting up the database only - is not stored.

Does this mean i would need a VPS or a dedicated server for it?

Because on shared it would not be possible on single accounts correct?

I think you must first create sql database then attach user on it with permissions allow it to install your script.

It's two different databases, one requires the MySQL root password.

Then it shows the normal under it..

Username:
Password:

A script asking for root password sounds a bit dubious, a standard user would be fine unless its trying to create a database all for itself.

Right heres some more info...

I basically need this for it to run.

In order to run, you need the following software:

- apache

- MySQL

- memcached

And the following php extensions:

- GD (for the captcha and the similar artist map)

- mb_string (multibyte strings)

- mcrypt (for encrypting cookies)

- memcache (interface to connect with memcached)

- mysqli (because the ordinary mysql libraries just don't cut it)

- for PHP TURN MAGIC_QUOTES_GPC OFF

Anyone recommend a host which i can get the following?

And possibly have the script setup for me.

I'm a forum only person, any other script really confuses the fuck outta me to be honest. )

And if you can do that, id be greatful i'll even keep you as part of the staff if you want to of course.

Mate if anyone here would make you pay them to do something this simple then there just being rude i can do this for you for free as it is just a matter of clicks and recompling apache your statement here

with all the requirement it needs well i can rest assure you your vps already has Apache installed lol mysql and memcache

GD mbcrypt and the others you can simply do via recompiling php i can show you how to do it so you know what to do for future refernces or i can do it your choice
