Hi,

I've decided to learn how to manage servers etc so I bought a £13 Kimsufi from OVH.

I've now got it and I have no idea what I'm doing :facepalm: I've googled alot trying to learn but I haven't got anywhere.

How do I install HyperVM etc? and put it on a domain?

Sorry for nooby questions! :facepalm:

HyperVM is only on Windows server. If it's Windows Server 2003/2008 Standard or above, then you probably already have HyperVM. If it's lower like Web Server, then unlikely you may not have HyperVM. What's your OS right now? and what do you mean by "put it on a domain"?

The server is : http://www.kimsufi.co.uk/ Kimsufi 2G

It's on CentOS 5.6. And I want to be able to sign into it via mysite.com:whatevernumbers.

Enter your IP in Host Name and enter 22 in Port. It'll ask you login as: first, then you type root and hit enter. Then you enter your password the next line comes up. After that, you're in the SSH tunnel of your server.

Yes, netboot inactive means you're running your server normally.

Hey,

If i was you id use proxmox in the OVH reinstall option.

It's easy and if you got a /29 from OVH you could a few test VM's for cpanel ect
