A month ago I registered xxxspicy.info at Namecheap, I haven't used it for 20 days I think. Yet Namecheap locked my domain 5 days ago. :facepalm:

So to all who are still thinking, Namecheap is good for a warez domain, don't sign up!

Did you have an open DMCA complaint you ignored?

Did you infringe on a registered trademark with your domain name?

I am sure there is more to the story then you posted so why not tell us all the details?

@WDF
I have never received a DMCA complaint in my mailbox and I have no idea if I infringe a registered trademark, can I check this someway?

EDIT: The whoisguard redirects all mails to my main email account, never received anything.

UPDATE: Just contacted enom about it, told them I haven't got any notice about their actions. Let's see what they say.

A common mistake by most people, not trying to rub your nose in it, is to assume because it's not .com, .net, or .org that it's somehow "offshore".

.info's registry is Afilias, a US based company. Your domain registrar, Namecheap, puts in the order from Afilias. All it takes is somebody to complain to Namecheap or Afilias as I looked up your domain on Google then you said that you were offering adult content. There are companies, such as MediaSentry, who handle DMCA complaints and shutting down websites content producers find objectionable such as download sites or video sites.

If you are looking for protection, find a domain extension that is overseas and look up who the registry is. After you verify that indeed the registry is offshore, find a domain registrar in that same country or offshore to register the domain for you which protects you from your domain being seized or shutdown. This would leave your hosting vulnerable and most websites jump from provider to provider, so I'm going to leave you securing your own hosting to you as I gave you the most important answer to your problem.

Good luck

100% agree

@pdqso
I know about the domain extensions and which to choose, this was just for testing purposes and it needed to be cheap. Yeah I was sharing some for a day or two, then I removed it all and closed the hosting. It's so weird they lock a domain after 20 days of not using it. If they locked it right away, atleast then I knew that that would be the reason.

@DLow
I see you are agreeing with WDF, and he is not wrong. Most of the time, people who post these things like I did wouldn't tell the whole story.
However, I have never received any DMCA complaint or any email about a trademark infrigment. That's why it was a total surprise for to see this domain locked. There isn't more to tell about it. No background story.

I have sent an email to legal@enom several hours ago, haven't received a response yet.

Losing this domain isn't the end of the world, only paid $3.00 for it I believe. :P
