Microsoft has recently moved the fight against the US government to the court, asking for permission to disclose more data and thus demonstrate that it didn't help the NSA spy on its users.

Both Google and Microsoft have filed suits in June, the Redmond-based tech giant revealed, pointing to the US Constitution and its rights to share more information with the public.

"X" company sues "X" organisation for "X". More bullshit publicity. What is a lawsuit going to solve? Nothing but lost capital due to "damages" of reputation.

What they should be doing is destroying all the data the NSA has gathered unlawfully without the permission or knowledge of 99% of people. Why are we not having that discussion instead of this bullshit which won't solve anything?

If they destroy the data they will get contempt of court charges since they violated a court order. Since a gag order was in place they are also not legally able to disclose what was given to the NSA.

Court orders to hand over information and gag orders to not disclose information have been around for decades, yet since it now involves the internet people only make a big deal about it.
