Linkchecker bot for phpbb2

There aint one, and truth be told pi0, they need constant updates, so you either need a team-member with php skills or learn yourself. Honestly.. its like a 8 year old kid having one of those.

LinkzBot is the best imo.

I was going to make (and still might) a client-side link-checker, but it would only be able to check like... maybe 10-20k posts an hour. Might sound a lot, but it aint. Consider a site with a 300k posts.. would take like 12 hours lol.

The one on warez-bb has being broken since late September so I can easily give you a broken link checker like the one on w-bb :P

Seriously though their isn't any stable good working one for ANY forum. I've tried about 7 or 8 different ones and they all have flaws. That's why I made my own. As Jayfella said they need constant updates and need constant tweaking.

@ jayfella: Thanks for the complement. By the way when you start on your link checker tell me and I'll let you know the problems I faced and hopefully save you some time. Main problem is getting IP banned by Rapidshare checking so many links at once.

I made one and posted the code in this forum, it could easily be adapted to phpbb2, just alter the queries

It uses rapidshare API to check, so its fast :P

It checks 25k topics a day and uses very little resources & logs all dumped topics


Its been fully tested on waz-warez

Agree with Mr. Happy, having made Checklinks/Link checker bots/Link checker script, you can never know when site updates, and constantly keep on need updating, or else you are screwed.

But there is a firefox addon, greasemoneky or something like this, that checks links. I'm sure you've heard about it..
Can't the source be used to make a custom one?
I'm going to ask Coolyou for his version ^^

pi0 just a suggestion.. i asked RF too.. n he said that these bots will move your working links too in to the trash section.

so better not to use it i guess..
