Hello everyone, it's my first warez forum. Give me some feedback so I can make it better. There's not many downloads so far, but me and the mods will be adding a ton every day.

  • The forum is a bit too skinny
  • Look into customizing your skin
  • I suggest removing ads during development stages
  • Shoutbox's usually don't bring anything productive
  • The Notice is great but make it link to the registration page
  • Suggest having some forums viewable buy guests (looks better)
 
As Waldo said, make the width bigger. Customization the usual thing, perhaps instead of text just create a Registration banner and link it to the registration page? Think text is a bit dull. Also The ads isnt too great atm, perhaps when the forums bigger and draws more traffic, if you must have em put it at the bottom/footer section

Quizzed through the Guest section, perhaps code the download links? Dont know about others but it looks a bit neater and such, as especially with a dark skin.

If you get these right, im sure it'll become quite popular ;). I like the forum name. Best of Luck Bud
 
Thank you guys for the great ideas. I'll be doing everything once the server is back up >_<. I'm working on the registration image now that guests see.
 
1. A narrow forum does not look good well to me, make it bigger.
2. Try to customise the forum buttons etc more, its too simple.
3. Shoutbox has to be disabled for guests (make it non-visible to them).
4. 'Guest! Please sign up....' needs to be hyperlinked to registrations page for the lazy guests.
5. You will definately have to code links, in my opinion.

Okay, I made the forum wider. I put an image telling guests to register and it links to the registration page. I'll work on customizing the icons and making the guests be able to see what sections we have.

My problem right now is I can't make the shout box only viewable by members. I have this in the FORUMHOME area.

Make the width 80-90%
Make all forum sections visible to guests.
Customize the post icons. ( A skull would be cool )

You can change the settings for vbshout in admincp --> vbulletin options --> vbshout (pro)

Keep posting and submitting to DDL forums.
 
Instead of making another warez forum since there are hundreds of them, I decided to make it a file upload site strictly for .torrent files. Let me know what you guys think.
