IPB 3.1.x Mod – prevent new member posts

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a mod for IPB 3.1.x to prevent new members from posting for X days. I'm not sure if there is a setting already in IPB for this so far I wasn't able to find it. Essentially it's to prevent some of the spammers that I've been getting lately.

you can make a new group "New members" and assign it to the new registered members and then you can promote the users to "Members" after x days

 

[Lock Down]

The new member group with other default groups are in the conf_global.php file in the forums default folder.

$INFO['banned_group'] = '5';
$INFO['admin_group'] = '4';
$INFO['guest_group'] = '2';
$INFO['member_group'] = '3';
$INFO['auth_group'] = '1';

Just change the 3 to the number of your newly created group.
