If i stands for IP address,what could the w stand for.?

well if there is a IP and numbers after that IP sometimes with a ":" means its a port.

Okay.port it is...i can find the IP by pinging the server ex-www.google.com,how do i find the port.?
To cut it short i want to find the port of a web address something like www.xyz.com

you see,the link is generated frm a premium a/c at one of the random leecher sites..the link will only work on the IP and port(supposedly) tht it was generated on..now i want to upload the same file on fileserve.com,but the Ip at fileserve is something like 209.222 etc..i can the replace the Ip on the link but i also need to know the port.. thanks for quick replies..am so much of a noob.
